How to Setup DualShock 4 v2 to PlayStation 4 with USB Cable

Introduction

This guide will show you how to connect an DualShock 4 (CUH-ZCT2), with a micro-USB Cable to a PlayStation 4 Console using the Cronus Zen.

Step 1Connect Cronus Zen to the PlayStation 4

  • Turn on the PlayStation 4 with the consoles power button
  • Connect the short (12″) micro-USB cable to the back of the Zen
  • Connect the other end of the USB cable to the PS4
  • If you have a PlayStation 4 Pro, Zen must connect to the rear USB port of the console.

Step 2Connect Xbox One Wireless Adapter to the Cronus Zen

  • Connect the Xbox One wireless adapter to Cronus Zen’s A3 USB Port
  • Wait until the A3 USB port status LED lights up green before continuing to the next step

Step 3Connect & Sync Controller to the Cronus Zen

  • Connect the Xbox One wireless controller to Cronus Zen’s A2 USB Port (the USB port status LED will light up green)
  • The controller will vibrate once and the Xbox Home button will light up solid white
  • Disconnect the controller from the A2 USB port
  • The Xbox Home button will flash white while searching for the wireless adapter
  • When pairing is successful, the adapter LED and Xbox Home button will both light up solid white

Step 4Connect Pass-Thru Auth Controller

  • As this is a crossover controller setup on a PS4 console, you must have an officially licensed PS4 controller connected to the Cronus Zen A1 USB port at all times
  • Connect a licensed PS4 controller to Cronus Zen’s A1 USB Port (the USB port status LED will light up green)
  • Tap the reset button on the bottom of the Zen to make sure everything syncs correctly (A1 & A3 USB status LEDs will both light up green, the Zen RGB LEDs will light up blue (PS4) and the Xbox controllers Home Button and wireless adapter LED will both light up solid white.
