LED Display & Error Codes

The CronusMAX PLUS LED display shows information such as the loaded memory slot, error codes and the current operational mode.

1
No memory slot is loaded
No profile is running (i.e. no GamePack, no GPC scripts), the input data (from the controller) is being directed to the output (to the console) without any changes.

2
Memory slot number # is loaded
A profile, indicated by numerical index, is loaded from flash memory into RAM and is running. The input data (from the controller) is being manipulated by the profile. You can store GamePacks, GPC Scripts and Macros to these profiles. Example, if you programmed a GamePack to memory slot 1 in Cronus PRO, press the Memory Slot button on the CronusMAX until the LED shows "1". This will then activate the GamePack.

3
A script was loaded by the "Build and Run" command
A profile was loaded to the CronusMAX from Cronus PRO to the PC PROG USB Port into RAM and is running. The input data (from the controller) is being manipulated by the profile.

4
Device in capture mode, a plugin is handling the I/O data
The CronusMAX PLUS is in capture mode and a Cronus PRO plugin is running (i.e. X-AIM). The I/O data is being handled by the plugin while connected to the PC via the PC PROG USB Port.

5
Standby animation with both dots - No console or controller connected
This is the animation you will usually see when the CronusMAX connected to the PC via the PC PROG USB Port and there are no controllers or consoles connected to it.

6
Standby animation with top dot - No console connected
The top-left dot stays ON when the CronusMAX PLUS is not plugged into a console. The animation means it is waiting to be plugged in to a console.

7
Standby animation with bottom dot - No controller connected
The bottom-right dot stays ON when there is no USB device plugged into the input port. The animation means it is waiting for a game controller. This could also be a USB Bluetooth adapter or Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver.

8
AU animation indicates the console is requesting authentication
You are using the CronusMAX PLUS on a Xbox One/Xbox 360 or PS4 system. You need to connect a wired controller to complete the authentication procedure. (Xbox One and PS4 Wireless controllers can be connected with a full data Micro-USB cable. If it stays on AU and doesn't change then your controller is not compatible with security authorization or your USB cable is bad. Xbox 360 Plug and Charge cables are not compatible for 360 wireless controllers as they do no not transfer data, you need to use a fully wired Xbox 360 controller if you are using an Xbox 360 console. If you don't have one you can buy them cheaply from our store..

9
Programming mode - Standby
The CronusMAX PLUS is in programming mode for a firmware upgrade or for storage of user scripts into flash memory. Cronus PRO will show as 'Device Connected in Recovery/Programming Mode" in the Status Bar.

10
Programming mode - Writing
The blinking dot indicates that write operations into flash memory are being performed. DO NOT INTERRUPT THIS PROCEDURE BY DISCONNECTING THE USB OR POWERING OFF THE PC!

11
Blinking "E" means the connected controller is not supported
The controller connected to the CronusMAX PLUS via the Input Port is not supported or is not recognized without using the X-AIM plugin and a Windows PC. You will also get this code if you are trying to use a USB Hub and have not updated to the latest firmware. If you are trying to connect a supported wheel in PS4 Wheel Edition Mode, this can also mean that your Micro USB Cable to the DS4 controller is either faulty or not full data compatible - try a new cable.

12
Fatal Error Codes - Hardware Failure Covered By Warranty
E1 is a hardware failure and should be returned if still under warranty. It cannot be repaired.

13
Fatal Error Codes - Hardware Failure Not Usually Covered By Warranty
E2/E3 is a firmware security and/or corruption issue due to running a firmware recovery or update on an older v1 or v2 device that did not have the CronusMAX PLUS firmware programmed to it. This error cannot be repaired by the user and the warranty is considered void due to physical damage.

There are certain conditions where this can happen to a newer, more recent model of Cronus, and in many cases that will still be under warranty. If you have a brand new CronusMAX PLUS model purchased from an authorized retailer, then it should be returned if still under warranty.

14
Other Error Codes
A solid E (with/without dots) means an error on a security check of the CronusMAX PLUS device or your controller is not compatible without using the X-AIM plugin and a Windows PC. If it does this no matter what controller you connect, you should try the recovery procedure as mentioned above in #13. If that doesn't work then the CronusMAX PLUS should be returned if under warranty.

15
Tournament Mode
If the letter 't' is displayed on the LED then the Cronus Operational Mode has been set to Tournament Edition Mode. All scripts and GamePacks are disabled while in this mode.

16
PS4 Wheel Edition Mode
If a racing track animation is displayed on the LED then the Cronus Operational Mode has been set to PS4 Wheel Edition Mode. Your CronusMAX PLUS is now capable of connecting any Logitech G25 or G27 to a PS4 and it will detect as a G29 with Full Force Feedback support, including gas clutch and brake pedals support as well as full gear shifter support.
